Production Research

It first opens with the credits before slowly setting the era with the scenery as you see some papers and a magnifying glass giving a context to the piece. It then cuts to a monologue of a character which is telling us the story up to now. It then launches into thriller/ action as you see a explosion this suggests it is action and thriller. It then cuts in to a package and does a tracking shot following it up and down before revealing a woman. It then reveals another character starting to speak to the woman this builds up tension and creates a tense mysterious atmosphere for the viewer.

It starts with the companies opening showing who made it, before going to a tech music core which starts off really light. It then shows you the match on action as the window smashes open before cutting to what we assume as men in a room. Then it cuts to another waiting when a car pulls up he puts on his match. Before they start parallell editing and refer back to the other two men. They then go on and talk about the man in power "the joker", Next you see the 3 men start to take hostages in a building which they grapple down onto. You next see one guy shoot another guy who he is working with before going back into the lobby where the 3 are still taking hostages. Next you see them trying to crack the vault while all the hostages are holding grenades with no pin so if they let go they will die. You see someone fighting back and the score starts to increase. He runs out of ammo before one of the masked villains shoot him in the shoulder.

It then cuts to the vault saying the joker told him to kill the guy on the roof for one les share and he says I got told something similar before killing the guy in the vault. The crook then realises he is going to kill him before the masked villain reveals that he kills the bus driver. A few seconds later he gets hit by a bus. He then reveals his face this is when the audience realises he is the joker then he leaves and it cuts to outside with the bus run in motion so he can make his escape.

It starts off with you seeing teapots and saucers  pouring nothing, this gives a time and era for when these type of things were in fashion. It then shows you dolls drinking which people are feeding to them, giving a idea of a tea party. it then cuts to a extreme long shot to reveal 3 girls playing with there dolls. They are turn there heads as if someone is there creating tension before turning to look at the window. It then cuts in to the window showing its importance while the score slowly gets louder and louder. They all stand up in sequence and slowly walk towards the window crushing and destroying there toys on the way. Once got to the window they all open it synced together this creates a uncomfortable feeling. Then they all jump at the same time, then you hear screaming as they hit the ground and then it cuts to the dolls face which makes the scene even more uncomfortable.

I think it would be a bad move to involve kids as it create more of a horror feeling you start to lose th thriller side of it so using teenagers or adults so its creates a atmosphere less tense but more mysterious and interesting

We have decided that our genre is going to aim at alternative as this seems like the group who enjoys thrillers a lot more than others. It is not in the mainstream audience as our idea is more of a art house threatre piece and the alternative group are the people that see most of the art house cinemas productions.

These are 3/10 questionairs we gave out, this allowed to see if our target audience would go watch at explaining just the idea to them. This will help contribute to our ideas so we know if we have adapt the idea or if we can keep it the same and build up on it more. Overall from the results in our survey most of the feedback was postive this means that we along the right tracks to succesfully making a good film opening.
